The project proposed by Rogue Community College District in Oregon includes a new 8,504 SF Transportation Training Building (TTB) at their Redwood Campus (RWC) and a 15,500 SF expansion/addition to the existing TTB at their Table Rock Campus (TRC). Arkitek worked in collaboration with Integrus as the local design team for the project. The project is in response to the rising demand for skilled professionals in the transportation and technology sectors and aims to create space for automotive training programs, which is currently unavailable at the sites. The proposed design supports the college’s goals of providing hands-on training in a space that mirrors real-world working conditions while remaining simple, durable and efficient. The new buildings at the Redwood and Table Campus are one-story academic teaching facilities with program including an instructional lab to teach vehicle maintenance and mechanics, educational classroom, commons, associated ancillary spaces, office, tool room and storage space. In addition to the building design and expansion, site improvements including accessible parking, landscaping, and service driveways are proposed. At the Table Rock Campus, the Danfoss building will remain detached from the new building expansion but connected by an open canopy.
